My doe, Tomato, is 7 months old and currently 4 days post-op from her spay. Physically she seems to be healing fine eating, pooping, and even exploring a bit. But she’s been way more cage aggressive since the surgery.

Before the spay, she was a little feisty, but now if I even go near her pen, she lunges or tries to bite. I can’t clean, feed, or even offer treats without her getting defensive.

Is this behavior normal after a spay? Could it be from pain, stress, or just hormones still working their way out? I’d really appreciate any input or experiences from others who’ve gone through this.
