My girl is sitting on my lap for the first time in 10 years.
| I'm lost for words. She's never been an affectionate bun. She has her sweet moments, f'sure, but they're very short lived as she's exceptionally independent and loves her space. She doesn't like being pet most of the time.. has a real cat-like personality tbh. I settled on the couch late at night after work and she hopped up and settled there in my lap for a good 15mins and let me give her lil head pats. Couldn't help but wonder if something was wrong (genuinely, I was petrified something was deeply, horribly wrong), but she's highly more likely to isolate when she's unwell, as buns do. No warning signs either; happily eating, drinking, pooping; the holy trifecta of rabbit health. It's winter and quite cold currently, so wouldn't be surprised if she was just trying to warm up a bit, which is rich, considering she's the kind of rabbit that would pick cold floorboards over a heated blanket on a 1degree Celsius day. But yeah - This has NEVER happened. EVER. And I've had her since she was a baby. It took 10 years. I had to share this with someone .. anyone .. who would understand the weirdness and odd exhilaration of this situation. [link] [comments] |
