Senior-ish rabbit no longer able to eat his cecotropes without making a mess

Partially just venting but would really like to hear any advice folks may have who are in a similar situation.

My 'Baby' is no longer a baby - although he's only 7 he's riddled with health problems. Degenerative disc disease and kidney disease that the vet now thinks is being accelerated by E. Cuniculi. He's basically completely incontinent at this point. It's extremely hard to keep his butt dry as he often will just pee on the floor and sit in it.

His mobility has also been declining for a few months now, and increasingly the past few weeks he can't reach his bum anymore to properly eat his cecotropes. It's now daily, multiple times even, they always end up stuck to him, resulting in frequent butt baths and having to shave most of his fur below the waist as close to the skin as we can get it to try to keep him clean.

We've gotten pretty good at cleaning him up with extra-moistened pet wipes and scissors, but it's still incredibly taxing on everyone involved. I can't think of anything more we can do, but I'm curious if anyone had advice, or can commiserate ????

It really sucks because honestly aside from his incontinence and cecotrope problems (which don't necessarily directly bother him, but he definitely doesn't enjoy the clean up after) he's really happy. He loves our other rabbit and gets cuddles regularly, he still has a big appetite, he gets around the house (albeit more slowly) and he even binkies once in awhile (small, clumsy ones, but still). I just wish things could be easier. He's on several medications but the doctor says things will never improve, it's all downhill from here..
