I'm taking a little break from my grid-based pieces. This two-hour study turned out to be much more complicated than was initially assumed. The different flowers and plant parts I can't even name crisscrossing all around felt like a brain workout. This time I was also determined to not use any white gouache to fix mistakes!

The edge areas of the piece could be substantially darker - it would make the central lights pop out much more. I might be tempted to paint a second larger & improved version at a later date...
