First attempt at linoprint and not happy with results

This is my first time trying linoprint and I thought it was super fun carving the linoleum, but the actual print is a mess!

I bought paint for this purpose (see pictures), and roller and special paper for making prints, but the result is uneven and not saturated.

I have applied pressure by just putting something flat on top and pressing hard with my hands, or just using my hands and pressed directly on the paper, but nothing works. I'm trying to be fast because I'm worried that the paint dries before I get it to the paper.

What I'm I missing?
