I’m a beginner to paining of any kind in the last couple months and I also just began using tube pigment over the weekend and learning to mix my own colors. That being said, I really love this medium and want to grow. I don’t understand how to make my work looser or more realistic. I am also having trouble mixing colors that have a lot of variance, particularly dark colors. Please post your tips and tricks. I’m using Daniel Smith colors (French ultramarine, Quad Rose, Pyrrol Scarlet, Hansa Yellow, New Gam, Phalto Blue, and Burnt Sienna).
