First try from an actual photo

Hi there!

I've been fairly happy of my improvement as a total newbie but up to now i have only been trying to copy other watercolors. As it's easy to get an idea of the technique used and i can get to a satisfying result.

This is my first try painting something from an actual picture i took. And i got to say it looked very flat but the highliner helped a bit making it more interesting, and it was something i always wanted to try as i think it makes the paintings a little more fun.

Now while not perfect i see the problems and what i can do better on most of this, but the hill on the left is a total mess. I had absolutely zero idea on how to portray it on paper and i wouldn't know how to do it next time.

I will try looking for some works with a similar concept and get some ideas there, in the meanwhile any feedback or tip would be very appreciated!
