I like doing these watercolors on watercolor paper, and masking tape is a huge part of my process for making edges. However, even with a gentle hand, something like 1 in 4 of my pieces is messed up by paper tearing while pulling the tape. This has made me move towards other mediums, but I’ve gotten several opportunities to do watercolor commissions since then, and I want a better method before I move forward with them.
