Blue Poppy watercolor

I tried hard to be a bit less detailed and just slow down and enjoy the process. I’ve got a new audiobook series, and I listen the most when I paint. Both were great! I tried to make the background more yellow than green for the complementary color touch, but I’m not sure that worked out well. I primarily use 3-5 colors. For this painting, I used nickel azo yellow, Phthalo blue (green and red shade), and Quin magenta. I used hot-pressed 300lb 11x15, Saunders Waterford. Ceramics made by Sylvan Clay Works.
