Have you ever felt the need to downgrade rather than upgrade?
| My experience: I've had these for almost one month now, I didn't like them that much at first, but after nailing the EQ they got so good. I have two issues tho, first their positional variability, I have small ears and moving the headphones changes the FR sligthly and I hate that. But more importantly, the soundstage, I just can't get accustomed to it, it makes the sounds too wide and separate for my taste, like music doesn't sound like music anymore. And the vertical imaging, altough impressing at first, now it kinda gives me an uncanny feeling, I would hear sounds coming from below and I mentally feel like that's not supposed to happen, I guess the typical headphone soundstage is ingrained in my brain. So I was seriously thinking about downgrading to something like the sundaras or ath r50x, as I love everything about the anandas except their fit-dependent sound and soundstage, and I was hoping that those would provide a more typical not too wide and not vertical soundstage and a smaller space in the earcups, without losing the analytical ananda sound. What do you think? Have you ever felt the need to downgrade rather than upgrade? And maybe do you have suggestions on other models I should consider? [link] [comments] |
