Pearl Sibelius and Axxess Forte 1 amp

The Pearl Sibelius paired with Axxess Forte 1 and REL T9i are an incredible combination. Listening to Roger Waters 'Amused to Death' via Spotify. It's one of the most advanced recording with exceptional 3D sound quality and clarity. Decent album too.

The Axxess Forte is 100wpc. The sound is very clean and tube like with holographic imaging and a quick and ample bass delivery. Very dark sound where back ground noise is very dampened with instruments and singers staged wide. Very well balanced EQ and delivers what sounds like neutral master recordings in a studio.

Pearl Sibelius is another class of speaker I have a hard time explaining or justifying to others. I got these used at deep discount. It is solid French Oak boards glued in a transmission line style. An experienced DIY person can build this speaker with seemingly inexpensive but discontinued MarkAudio Aplair 10m drivers made in Hong Kong. Pearl's version is proprietary so I had to buy replacements direct from Pearl of Europe after blowing one driver cone with an old overpowered amp discharging and a poopind a driver. They are full range metal cones over 4 inches. No capacitors, just direct amp to driver. And it sounds out of this world. Just be careful to pair it with safe and good internal condition electronics.

Sibelius details exceed anything I have ever heard. A string pluck, a slight breath, and a pin drop can all be easily revealed in a song. I can focus easily on every instrument, even a maraca sounds very real and present when it is usually hiding far back in the soundstage with other speakers. The bass is good but obviously it's weak point so the Rel T9i at very low setting helps round out the bottom frequencies.

I also own La Scala 1 and Cornwalls 1 and Heresy 4 and Borressen X2. All excellent in their own right but wonderfully different. These Pearls exceed them in revealing detailed dynamics. I truly feel like I'm in the mind of the artists and feel a much deeper connection to music with this combination.

HAPPY LISTENING!
