In short, this is possibly my favorite audio accessory I’ve ever purchased. The quality of sound is most important to me, and man does this thing sound great! All three sound modes are a huge improvement over the direct sound from my phone, my iBasso DX 180, MacBook, etc.

My personal favorite is the modern tube setting. The punch in the bass is incredible, and the soundstage opens up beautifully. Separation between instruments is incredibly clear. Both tube modes have a nice warm sound, but modern shifts more focus to the mids and tightens up the bass a bit. Vocals sound incredible in this mode. Background noise with my DCA Noire X and my Topping Hane IEM’s is non-existent, absolutely black background.

It has the power to bring out the best sound with my DCA Noire X and Sennheiser HD 650, my two favorite over ear headphones that need some decent power to perform at their best. This is especially true in “hyper” mode, using DC power. However, even on the go I can use any set of headphones or IEM’s I own and get great sound.

I do wish it had a bit better battery life (4.5 hours or so) when on its own power, but this hasn’t been an issue for me yet as I don’t have much of a commute and mostly use it around the house or at my desk.

As an iPhone owner, I love the MagSafe capability. It is large for a “dongle” style dac/amp of course, but it’s not too large when attached to my phone to fit comfortably in a pocket.

I’m incredibly happy with this purchase and have been using it every day for hours, listening to every genre and decade I can and just loving the way everything sounds using it.
