Preparing listening room for sound treatment.
| Been in this house three years with my first dedicated listening room in 25 years, and finally getting started building a wall with a multitude of sound treatment features. If I’m not too embarrassed with my handiwork, I will post some progress photos. I am lucky to have a local studio engineer helping me with this project. This is my humble but attainable system that I’ve been building since before Covid. ~$10k USD. Started with a B&W Zeppelin Bluetooth speaker and a $129 AT LP60. I have a lot of components out of picture and many more I’ve sold or given to friends and strangers in pursuit of their own systems. Current lineup: Klipsch Heresy IV, 2x Emotiva 8” subs, Schiit Vidar amp (the pair as monoblocks is overkill for this setup), Nakamichi CR3 tape deck, Onkyo CD player, Schiit Freya S preamp, Parasound ZRM balanced phono amp, Technics 1500 turntable with Ortofon 2M Blue. Subs output is attenuated by a passive Schiit SYS (my first preamp). It’s the small silver box to the right of the turntable. Cables are all WBC from Amazon (9 gauge overkill biwires also WBC $220ish?) DIY maple speaker stands and turntable plinth with SVS Subwoofer isolation feet under the subs and turntable.
