Preparing listening room for sound treatment.

Preparing listening room for sound treatment.

Been in this house three years with my first dedicated listening room in 25 years, and finally getting started building a wall with a multitude of sound treatment features.

If I’m not too embarrassed with my handiwork, I will post some progress photos. I am lucky to have a local studio engineer helping me with this project.

This is my humble but attainable system that I’ve been building since before Covid. ~$10k USD.

Started with a B&W Zeppelin Bluetooth speaker and a $129 AT LP60.

I have a lot of components out of picture and many more I’ve sold or given to friends and strangers in pursuit of their own systems.

Current lineup: Klipsch Heresy IV, 2x Emotiva 8” subs, Schiit Vidar amp (the pair as monoblocks is overkill for this setup), Nakamichi CR3 tape deck, Onkyo CD player, Schiit Freya S preamp, Parasound ZRM balanced phono amp, Technics 1500 turntable with Ortofon 2M Blue. Subs output is attenuated by a passive Schiit SYS (my first preamp). It’s the small silver box to the right of the turntable.

Cables are all WBC from Amazon (9 gauge overkill biwires also WBC $220ish?) DIY maple speaker stands and turntable plinth with SVS Subwoofer isolation feet under the subs and turntable.
