My new Sony MV1 and M1, first impressions
| I've been using my Sennheiser hd 6xx for a couple of years now and wanted something new, Sony was having black Friday sale so I got them both at 20% discount. I'm very surprised by the Sony MV1, they're super comfortable and weight basically nothing (218g). They're very fun to listen, they're energetic but they also have a lot of bass for an open back headphones, my hd 6xx don't even come close even with EQ. I also finally understand what people mean when they talk about the Sennheiser "veil". These headphones will probably be my new daily headphone but I do feel like they are shouty at times. The cable is unfortunately very long but I might get a balanced cable later. The Sony M1 are very pleasant to listen, bass is good and doesn't bleed into the mids, they are not as bright as the MV1s and that's a good thing because they aren't fatiguing at all. They remind me a lot of my kph30i but with better bass, vocals and clarity. Sony thankfully included a normal length cable that's decent. Not a lot to say here but I can listen these for hours because of their tonality. Just a heads up if you're considering any of these headphones, the pads aren't very firm so if you have large or protruding ears they might touch the walls of the headphones. I personally don't have any issues with the pads. [link] [comments] |
