YS "First Contact". I just dropped a chunk of it in my mug, rinsed, and added hot water. Other than some leaves in my mouth (I can't see the darned things because it's so dark) this is really amazing. I'm surprised at how oily this is! (That mug was clean, I swear!) It lost almost all of its "hay" taste brewed this way. Now my question - is the first rinse really necessary? I've read that it's healthier to rinse Puer before brewing BUT I've also noticed that the lump of tea was still mostly solid after the first rinse, so I have a hard time believing that the rinse is accomplishing much in reality. After all, it's a pressed cake. Whatever debris is pressed inside the cake is...pressed inside the cake. [link] [comments] |
