I want to open this bottle tonight. It’s a Viña Pomal Gran Reserva Cosecha 1991. I’m really curious about what the people of this sub might be able to tell me about it!

Story: I got this on my 18th birthday back in 2009. I dont know much about wine, so this has been in my storage for the past 17 years. I think it’s been stored reasonably well - dark and horizontal, for the most part - but I’m sure it wasn’t ideal by any standard.

I’ve had it for so long and I kept saving it thinking there would be some perfect occasion. Reality is there were many such occasions but I never opened it. This morning I thought to myself ‘fuck it’ and decided to open it tonight. I’ll have a nice and slow evening with my wife and we’ll just try it together.

Obviously I’m going in expecting anything. It could be great, it could be vinegar. But if you guys have any cool wisdom about the house, the vintage, or the specific bottle that would be super cool. Thanks!
