1970 Chateau Latour Pomerol
| Pnp but this needed some time to fully reveal itself truffle, tobacco, cocoa, earthy red fruits, with notes of pomegranate, prune(not stewed or complex sugar from aging), and a touch of chocolate. On the palate at first was a little upfront with the fruit and acid on the tail but after an hour or so it went soft, showing fully evolved the further we waited, very silky, gently fruits and unami, subtle earthiness, and very smooth finish. An elegant old-school Pomerol that held up to the glass we held for the next day. Would never have guessed that it say overnight vacuumed. Bit more cherry on the next day but over the whole time it never really hit that overly oxygenated tired feeling. My oldest pomerol but this one felt like it really held up well for 55 years I've never had anything this old be drinkable the next day [link] [comments] |
