Very special bottle, birth year wine for my wife.

I've always felt Pichon Baron is capable of first growth tier wines and this vintage absolutely demonstrates that.

Stood up 12 hours before drinking and opened two hours ahead of dinner. Decided to slow ox instead of decant, so the wine wouldn't fall apart.

Initially, needed time to open up, but after a couple hours, this was beautiful.

Notes of dark plum, dark cherry, arugula, allspice, and clove.

Long finish, mellow tannins and acidity.

This wine is at its peak, I think, but can also probably last for the new few decades.

94 points.
