Nose: Needed to blowoff right at the start. Some baked fruit on the nose that was very muddled. Gave way to some more rich red fruit notes with sharpness at the back end.

Taste: Also took a bit to get moving (35 mins) and blow off some astringent notes at the start. Developed into a classic Pommard which is significantly more full bodied and ‘Bordeaux like than Burgundian. But then again that’s why I drink wine for fun only.

Black cherry and more earthly notes. Maybe even leather? Missing some nuance on the front end and really hitting heavily in the mid-mouth.

Not my favorite, but at $79 it was a horrible deal to try old burg.
