2022 Richard Östreicher Spätburgunder Hallburg A beautiful bottle of Pinot Noir from this very talented and under the radar producer from Franconia, Germany. The wines from Richard Östreicher are incredibly well made with his Silvaners showing style plus depth of fruit. His Pinot Noirs are elegant, penetrating, and aromatic. These are tiny production wines and well worth the effort to track them down. A beautiful nose of pomegranate, tart cherry, wild bramble, and a floral lift immediately draw you into the wine. The deep and elegant palate is filled with delicious plums, tart wild raspberry, earthy spices, and savory minerality. I was very impressed and am really looking forward to trying the other bottlings and seeing how they evolve over time.
