The summer of new whites marches on…

New to me, anyway.

2021 Baldovar 923 ‘Cañada París’ Merseguera. Last night was this white from Spain. Medium straw in the glass, very persistent legs. Nose was super light and I had a lot of difficulty putting my finger on exactly what it was. I got a very faint hint of unbuttered popcorn and maybe some toasted hazelnut. My GF said she could pick up some sorrel, but I wouldn’t know sorrel if it walked up and bit me, so… ???? I really couldn’t suss out any fruit. Medium- body, medium acidity and a little phenolic bite. There was nothing terribly wrong with it, but I feel like it didn’t have much character. I don’t think I liked it quite enough to seek it out again.
