Farr out!

Farr out!

Yesterday I hosted a (quasi) horizontal tasting/masterclass of the most recent releases of the entire range of Wines By Farr.

I’ve been looking forward to doing this since I had the pleasure of tasting the recent releases with Nick Farr back in June. Absolutely brilliant wines across the board; just beautiful expressions of terroir and expert winemaking. All of the wines were drinking beautifully now, and I expect they will get better with age.

The whites were particularly fascinating in how they were identifiably cool climate, yet also had plenty of fruit notes that I would typically associate with a warmer climate wines.

Among the reds, the shiraz was phenomenal. If you had given me this wine blind I would have certainly guessed Côte-Rôtie.

As per usual, all of the single-site pinot noirs were phenomenal. Among them the Tout Près was the best of a brilliant bunch.

If I had to pick a top three they would be: Tout Près, Shiraz, and GC Chardonnay (in that order).
