| I've always had good experiences with Burgess, especially at the price point. I'm glad Burgess was able to rebuild after the fires. The Alpinist is primarily a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, with some Petit Verdot and Petite Sirah blended in. Drank and decanted over two hours. Initially a little closed off, but decanting did it wonders. Easy drinking with nice acidity, blueberry, red cherry, mint notes. Medium finish. Paired well with sourdough pizza. Great value for the money as well, especially since this bottle cost me under $40. 90 points. [link] [comments] |
