Hi there, I know very little about burgers, but when I was admitted in the hospital, I had their cheeseburger a couple of times and I swear it was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten! I feel like I loved it because of how bad it was, and how much it reminded me of a school cafeteria burger from when I was a kid.

I know this is silly, but I would kill to be able to make these burgers from home. I found out the manufacturer and purchased a bunch of patties in bulk, tried cooking one on the stove, and it came out nothing like the hospital burger. I’d need it to be more firm, dry, and spongey I think, and less flavorful. Is there a cooking method that hospitals and school cafeterias use to make their burgers like this? I’m wondering if they bake them in an oven? If so would anyone have any baking advice for getting the patty to this point? Thanks a million!
