2nd attempt at making pizza but it turned out bland?

On my 1st attempt I think I over kneaded the dough making a thick bread like crust. On my 2nd attempt, the crust turned out better but my family said that it was bland in flavor overall.

For the crust I used: 2 and 1/3 cup AP flour, 3/4 tsp salt, 2 tsp sugar, active yeast, 3/4 cup warm water

Sauce: san Marzano canned tomatoes, black pepper, salt, basil, olive oil, oregano

I used Costco’s packaged mozzarella slices and topped with more basil leaves and red chili flakes.

I feel like it could have used more salt. The sauce was pretty flavorful but the crust and cheese felt lacking. Any suggestions on improvements?
