Frontera NV Cabernet Sauvignon - Merlot
| Travelling for Memorial Day weekend and didn't see any reason spending too much for hotel room wine. Had never had Frontera, the massive Chilean wine brand, before either. No vintage. Notes of black cherry , raspberry, red currant, graphite, and fresh soil. Ligut body, neary non-existant tannins, but fresh enough acidity and surprisingly good length. Certainly not great but in all honesty feels somewhat representative enough of the varietals, very affordable, and not offensive. The biggest weakness is relatively thin body and lack of tannic grip which do not fit the typical CS-Merlot blend profile. Will I buy it at home? No. Would I buy it again for a few days living out of a suitcase? Probably. [link] [comments] |
