2012 Dom, 2013 Dom, 2013 Cristal
| At Cornerstone Restaurant for one of our regular Pittsburgh wine dinners. I do these every ~2 months, dm me on instagram (mchangwine) if interested! 2012 Dom Perignon Lemon zest, brioche, amazing palate, drinking phenomenally. This was head and shoulders above the 2013 right away, and while the 13 did improve over a bit of time, I still favor the 12 for its pretty and abundant fruit and precision. 2013 Dom Perignon A bit tight and disjointed initially, integrated after some time but still a bit awkward. Did have quite a bit more acidity than the 12, so we’ll see how they compare in time. 2013 Cristal Drinking phenomenally as always. Meyer lemon and toasted brioche on the nose, lovely lemon on the palate, super long finish. There was some talk about this being shut down but this is the third bottle I’ve had in the last few months and it’s firing on all cylinders. [link] [comments] |
