Some killer wine barrels in Tokyo.

Ok, these French wine barrels outside the Meiji Shrine in Tokyo are not actually filled with wine. These barrels, known as kazaridaru (decorative barrels), are part of an annual offering from French wineries. They symbolize the friendship between France and Japan, as well as the importance of wine in French culture.

The barrels are empty and are displayed as a ceremonial gesture, representing the wine offerings made to the deities of the shrine.

Still pretty cool to see.
