Krug 164, 2017 Anne Gros Richebourg
| Krug 164: Haven’t had this in a little while. This was drinking phenomenally tonight. Some brioche and Meyer lemon curd on the nose, with immense power on the palate with crisp but not overwhelming acidity and a superb finish. This is just one of the best champagnes out there right now. 2017 Anne Gros Richebourg This initially had a little medicinal note on the nose, with a streak of cranberries and some floral notes, but a bit of spice box and pure fruits on the palate and long finish. Over the course of several hours open the nose expanded to a lovely bouquet of fruit and spice and the palate blossomed and the finish lengthened. Likely a few more years would help here, but this is a fantastic wine with a ton of potential. At Morcilla Pittsburgh. Fantastic food and service. More Pittsburgh wine events to come this year!
