Came across this bottle in a relative’s cellar while on holiday. We thought it would be well past its prime but were surprised to find it had held up very nicely!

The cork came out without too many issues and the wine was beautifully aromatic on the nose. It came out of a cool cellar (13C) into a warm and humid climate, so we waited half an hour for it to come up to temperature slightly.

Brick red, slightly opaque in colour. Still plenty of dark fruit, with notes of leather and spice, and a nice long finish.

Thoroughly enjoyable wine, and there are two more in the cellar!
