2014 Peju Reserve Cab Franc
| Decanted for about 90 minutes. I don’t drink much Napa, so I was truly shocked at how heavy bodied and just generally BIG this was. I adore Chinon and CFs from Finger Lakes, so this really threw me off at first sip. In my mind CF is thin, light bodied. This could have passed for a zin or Mourvèdre. Bone dry, high, grippy tannins. Light plum and current on the nose. Biggest flavors were leather, tobacco, dry leaves (maybe the Pennsylvania fall affected my taste buds). Each pour I enjoyed more than the previous. A lovely wine, biggest issue was how it tasted against my expectations, but no issues on its own. A nice drinking experience and it was fun to branch out and just enjoy being surprised by something. ✌???? [link] [comments] |
