New Decanting Setup
| So, I’ve gone this long without having a decanter, and finally put together what I think is a pretty killer (yet simple) setup. It’s a 2L Erlenmeyer flask with baffles at the bottom, which will hopefully aid in oxygenation while swirling. It’s topped with the Wine Enthusiast funnel that is closed at the bottom, but has sideways facing holes to make the wine flow along the glass rather than just pour straight down. Also a stainless mesh that fits inside to filter out sediment. I chose this particular style of Erlenmeyer flask because of the shaker baffles at the bottom, but also the longer neck and polished rim. My thought it a polished rim will drip less than a “heavy duty” beaded rim, but that’s just a hypothesis ???? Not half bad…at least I think? Has anyone else done similar?? Can’t wait to try it out!
