Starting the weekend early - what are we drinking?
| 2020 Mee Godard Corcelette Nice blue fruit and violet on the nose, but a little quiet. M+ acidity and very structured for gamay, sticky tannins arriving mid stride. Well composed palate, integrated blue fruit leads a very mineral focus, finishing medium on rocks and bramble fruit. This is about the sixth bottle I've had from this producer over a few vintages, and while it's not bad, I can't really get into it compared to peers. Godard focuses on Burgundy-like texture, but I prefer a lighter more ethereal approach to my Beaujolais. And for the price, I'll just grab another bottle from P'tite Max in the future.
