2023 Keller von der Fels

While KP Keller is known for his ultra expensive and exclusive GGs, his village wines are still simply stunning. Von der Fels is comprised from the younger vines at the base of his grand cru sites. This allows the GG wines to be made strictly from the oldest vines, but also allows for this really fun blend to exist, and at this point the vines are pushing 40+ years I believe. This is my 3 year having this wine and to me it is the epitome of a trocken Riesling - some light petrol on the nose along with green apple, white flowers. The palette explodes with crazy acidity, this is kind of like sucking a lemon in the best way possible, then crisp green apple follows along with more of a lemon curd rather than the burst of lemon at the beginning. Length is there, this one goes for a while. The acidity is really insane on this vintage, and I’ve had a couple other Keller 23s and they are equally impressive. I LOVE this wine!
