Made my kiddo a giant donut cake this year. First time doing a carved cake and it was waaaay to soft but still came together ok. Also didn't feel like fussing with fondant and instead went with buttercream since my kids like it better. Then I was short on time and thought I could doctor up some store bought icing to get a decent consistency. Bad decisions all around LOL. But my kiddo still loved it so that's what matters most.
