I got into sourdough with everyone else at the beginning of covid, learned a lot, but eventually decided donate it to my friend's sister. It's been a few years and I learned that it's still alive! She separated a portion off so I could have some back and (thanks to busy schedules) it took me a couple weeks to pick it up.

Does this look safe to use? Can I just pour off the liquid on top? Thank you!
