If you've been following my confectioners powdered sugar experiment, the results are in and the culprit wasn't quite what I was expecting.

Across the board, testers noticed a floral flavor which clearly pinpointed Mexican Vanilla as the culprit. That wasn’t my only finding, though, which confirmed my suspicion that not all powdered sugar is created equal.

Now, before you ask — Yes, I did make sure to fully clean my equipment with unscented detergent, triple rinsed, and dried everything with a paper towel. No, I don’t have air fresheners in my home and I do not use silicon mats or tools. You can read more about the troubleshooting steps I took to ensure accuracy in Part 1 of my experiment.

The results were confirmed after testing batch 13, which was created using the exact same method, substituting out Mexican Vanilla for clear vanilla extract.
