Hen suddenly rejected by the whole flock

Hi everyone, my youngest hen Gertrude, was attacked by a possum about a month ago, we had her in the chicken hospital after the other hens turned on her after her injury. We had her in our chicken hospital as she sprained her leg and had a limp.

After about 2 weeks we returned her to the coop (at night) and things seemed fine but unfortunately the following morning we found two of the hens higher on the pecking order literally stomping on her wings and picking her feathers off, so she went back in the chicken hospital to keep her safe, thinking perhaps she wasn't fully healed.

We gave her another week and she was walking better and had her feathers grown back and my husband had stayed in the coop with her and all our hens were encircling her including my roo and closing in on her and she ran off to hide, so we seperated her again.

Is it too late for her? I didn't raise this flock as we inherited it from my father in law and Gertrude was the youngest chick in the flock (the roo is her dad, actually and one of the hens higher in the pecking order is her mom -- based on her feather pattern)

Thanks in advance
