We bought a small ranch and after years of planning for this moment, my husband finally raised meat chickens and processed our first. Our plan is to fill the freezer twice a year and stop relying on mass produced meat. All of our beef comes from a friend’s ranch, pork is from another local ranch, eggs are from our hens and now chicken from our happy flock. Feels good to be more self sufficient and stop supporting mass production practices.
