I personally prefer roosters over hens if I had to choose the only perk for a hen is they lay eggs I've always liked the more dog-like demeanor of a rooster, I don't know if it's just roosters that I've had and I've had quite a few but they all even the ones that are kind of skittish act kind of like dogs, especially if you can get them to trust you, their characters and I absolutely love them plus I don't know if anyone else has experienced this but I've never had a mean rooster at least not towards people but half of my hans are mean towards people LOL
