Found this strapping young lad caught in my run’s netting

Somebody left the run door open, and i woke up to my ladies chickening about unconcerned destroying my garden’s plants. I went to put them back on the run and I found this guy. Smallish size, I imagine he went after the pigeons and a little birds that had gotten into the chickens feed. I put on a pair of work gloves and carefully untangled his claws and wings from the net, he flew away as soon as I took him outside, unharmed. Wish I had taken a better picture, but I was in a hurry to getting him off the net so he wouldn’t get hurt with all the thrashing. He gave me a scare, but I was thrilled to be able to take a look at such beautiful bird close by. Hopefully he’ll stick to taking care of the roof, rats and the pigeons and leave my girls alone.
