Pole barn girts
| My land has a slope that drops 26" from the front to the back where I'd like to build a pole barn. A contractor told me it would be fine to build on and the poles at the back would need to be longer to accommodate. He said they would extend the girt board down with pressure treated .60 CCA tongue and groove 2x8, like the picture showsbut not as high. I do plan on having a concrete floor poured as well. The posts would have post sleeves and put in the ground. Where I'm at the frost line is 36" down. I know another option would be a stem wall, but would probably blow my budget up. Thoughts?
