For 60 years there hasn’t been a deadly accident and it shows how robust the system really is. In terms of quality and efficiency the Shinkansen has yet to be topped. China has built a lot but it’s just for propaganda purposes and lacks the quality and safety that Shinkansen is known for. France, Italy and Spain have pretty good high speed networks but not good enough railway networks that compliment them as well as Shinkansen. Germany’s trains are never on time. Over 60 years later Shinkansen is still on top.
