Russian Sapsan (St. Petersburg to Moscow)

Russian Sapsan (St. Petersburg to Moscow)

My shot of the Sapsan train (Сапсан) that I've traveled on between St. Petersburg and Moscow. Built (I believe) by Siemens for Russian Railways. It was an interesting experience, though given the current political climate, one I'll probably never repeat. The interiors were fairly standard for European electric high-speed rail though the food in the first class carriage left a bit to be desired. Though the Sapsan recorded a record of 290km/h top speed (180mph) I don't recall seeing anything higher than 199km/h on the overhead display as we were traveling. Though it was a comfortable way to make the 3:40 hour trip between city centers, with the vast western landscape of Russia still looking fairly bleak (even in the height of summer).
