Spent three days documenting the Great Western Railway across southwestern Saskatchewan. This was one of my favourite photos.

As the mercury plunges into negative digits, ice fog swirls through the crisp prairie air, illuminated by the headlight glow of GE B40-8 578 as it eases a dozen or so storage cars onto the elevator track at Consul, Saskatchewan, on November 25th, 2025. With eleven hours and 180 miles behind them since departing Assiniboia, it has been a long run for the crew, marking the first of three days serving the far reaches of the Great Western Railway along the Altawan and Notukeu Subdivisions.
