This is the JR East E7 Series Shinkansen (bullet train) that operates from Shin-Tokyo station to Shin-Niigata station. This train passes through the Dai-Shimizu tunnel which is 22.2km long on its way through the Japanese Alps.

I thought this page would appreciate some of the most reliable trains in the world. Japan Rail Shinkansen lines have. Even in operation for nearly 50 years with no derailment and no crashes. I spent a fair bit of time in Japan and happily take these trains over a flight if I can.
