I finally finished my first real garment! (I made a raglan sweater before this, but I don’t count it because it has so many mistakes that I didn’t know how to fix, so it was a “practice”piece). I made a lot of mistakes on this one too, tinking and frogging over and over without a lifeline, not being able to count properly, etc., but I knew how to fix most of them……that gave me a lot of confidence. There are still a few mistakes I couldn’t to fix, like in the increases in the raglan seams, but I’m still very proud and happy that I can wear it when I go shopping. It keeps me very warm. I’ve been teaching myself to knit with YouTube. The main thing I need to improve upon is consistent tension, although wet blocking really helped.

Please excuse the poor picture quality. The pattern is “Jane” by Jessica McDonald, and she has a 6-hour YouTube tutorial, part of the reason I chose it. It’s a cropped pattern but I made it longer. The DK yarn is Kelbourne Woolens Scout in Sky Heather.
