Hey everyone! I have been stalking this sub for a little while admiring everyone's amazing and inspiring works, and finally got the courage to post my first finished cross stitch piece! I've done embroidery for a couple years but fell in love with this design when I was visiting the V&A Museum over the summer. I thought I'd just give cross stitch a quick try but now I'm OBSESSED. It itches my need for order and precision that I often can't achieve with embroidery, and I already have dozens of patterns bookmarked that I want to do. :]

One question I have for the more experienced stitchers though, is how exactly are you supposed to do backstitching on aida? Sometimes the pattern shows the line going no where near the fabric holes.. are you supposed to put the stitch just anywhere on the fabric or line it up to the holes as best you can? Any advice appreciated!
