My first time! Would love feedback ????

My first time! Would love feedback ????

I had been thinking about learning to embroider the past two weeks to make some patches. A few days ago I got some supplies as well as this pattern. I had to dye the cloth so the fox would be more visible and sage green looks so pretty.

I'm mostly happy with how it turned out! It gave me a lot of chances to practice some different stitches and learn ☺️

Any feedback would be welcome! The fox is the long short stitch, the berries/flowers are french knots and the branches are back stitch. The leaves... well obviously I had no idea what I was doing with those but they were supposed to be straight stitch lol

I also have a few questions:

1) How can I hold the hoop to do my french knots more fluidly? I like them, but I'm struggling with switching between hand positions to keep the tension right.

2) For back stitch how do I keep my stitches more uniform? Does it hinge on where the floss exits through in relation to the thread already there? There were cases where my thread enters and exits the same hole but one link is slightly higher and as a perfectionist that bothers me a lot ????

Sorry for the long post and thanks for your help ☺️ I think I enjoy this more than drawing and am so excited to start the two patch projects I have in mind!
