[PIC] help me decide if I want to do blue aida again

[PIC] help me decide if I want to do blue aida again

I am making a pair of corgi pillows. (One will be a gift and I’m keeping the other, so they don’t need to totally match.) I did it on 16 count navy Aida cloth and it has been a real pain. I tried a bunch of tricks I’ve read on here and ended up having to buy a magnifying lamp clip, which I find annoying because I have to stitch in a specific spot to be able to plug it in and clip. I get more of my WIPs done when I can do them anywhere so this one is taking me a while. Also of note is you can see some of the navy through the messier stitches on the dog - which I actually like. (I’m not a perfectionist stitcher, I like when it looks a little messy because it makes it unique and obviously hand made.)

So what I’m wanting opinions on is: Do I torture myself and do the second one on the navy like I had planned? Or do I do it on an easier lighter color since I’m filling in the outer space with navy thread anyway and just be ok that it looks a little different since the pair isn’t staying together?
